Have you noticed - Kate's birthday is still celebrate many places? This year it is the University of Kent. Anyone live nearby? They have a fashion show www.kent.edu/artscollege/News/lunchwithkate.cfm under the name LUNCH WITH KATE: Celebrating Katharine Hepburn's Influence on Fashion Wouldn't you love to be there?!

That's so cool! I love how it's something kind of different...not many stars would warrant so many different kinds of events for years and years after they pass away.
I'm thinking of saving my AQ DVD/documentary until May 12. On her 100th my parents and I tried to rent AQ, which led to a wild goose chase over three towns and at least eleven video stores...so it would be nice to watch it then lol.

Re: Kent State: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLi_xG8Cb08Say what, now?! 1,000+, including her falsies and MaxFactor and excuse me while I die 9 times. SHOUT-OUT TO THE AR DRESS! AND THE WITHOUT LOVE STAGE PRODUCTION LILA VINE-ESQUE GOWN! (Mouthful.) AND THE BLOUSE FROM THE LITTLE MINISTER! AND AHAJKSGAJKGdJKAGJLGFGFASG. I'll be going to this, but a list of locations this exhibit intends to visit will prove invaluable. Also, LOL @ them having to construct an entirely new mannequin for Miss "I Have to Keep Stocking Up With Carbohydrates and Proteins On The WOTY Set So I Don't Keel Over And Die, Oh Woe Is Me What Is A Girl Of 105 Lbs. To Do?!" I've gone back and fourth on this, but I think Kate was legit addicted to exercise. That, on top of having the hyperactivity of an 8-year-old child with ADD and Tourettes, may be the reason she was such a stringbean. (What is politically correct.)

About a thousand years ago - actually in 1974, I think - which to some of you WAS a thousand years ago - there was a sensational costume exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum called Romantic and Glamorous Hollywood Design. Diana Vreeland curated it and a gorgeous book was published by Harry N. Abrams to complement it (which I happily have). Both the Philadelphia Story party gown and Without Love negligee were there. So was I. Someone is selling the poster that was done for the show (which I also happily have) here: cgi.ebay.com/Hollywood-COSTUME-Design-Fred-Astaire-Rita-Hayworth_W0QQitemZ220591767466QQcmdZViewItemQQptZArt_Posters?hash=item335c4b3faaCan't wait to see this Kent State show.

There's no chance I'll see the Hepburn-inspired fashion show, but visions of a road trip to Ohio flashed in my mind when I read about the 1,000 piece exhibit opening in October! It'd be grand if the exhibit came to St. Louis but anything that is ever cool always seems to skip the midwest!

Really?? Shame on them! But that's strange, because they celebrate a lot of birthdays and death anniversaries and such...
