Thanks Courtney! The first two are so sad And did you see the letter Bacall wrote to him with the " Mr and Mrs Humphrey Bogart"? Awww. Terrible.

I'd never seen the one to Joseph Losey, so thanks very much for providing the link, Courtney. FYI - The transcription is incorrect in one place: she does not write, as noted, that ST was the only human being she ever knew who was never "alone." The transcription is wrong. What she writes is that he was never "a bore." The Newquist letter is one of the wonderful responses she sent to condolences she received. Note that the book referred to is what eventually became A SPECIAL KIND OF MAGIC. I am privileged to own the Clifton Webb guest book page. Also on that page are George Cukor, Irving and Ellin Berlin, Somerset Maugham and Robert Sherwood!!! Not sure if they were all there at the same time, but it does seem that they were all there on the same day. That same auction had other pages with Kate's signature but this one with ST's struck me as special. Wonder why.

You mean Bogart? It's in the Clifton Webb one, page 52. There are other gems there too, like Mrs. Betty Lauren Bacall Humphrey Bogart!! a couple of pages down. Oh, what would we do without Betty Bacall?
