Found this book by searching google books for more Kate sources for my senior thesis paper...there are only a few Kate bits but if they are true they are pretty cute Background info: It's the story of Hesper Anderson, the daughter of famed Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Maxwell Anderson (What Price Glory?, Winterset, Key Largo, The Bad Seed). South Mountain Road is a startlingly personal and beautifully conceived and written story of a young girl's coming of age through the suicide of her mother. Featuring a virtual Who's who of literary celebrities of its time (the late 1930s and 1940s) and place (New York and its environs), it is a remarkably novelistic and delicately wrought memoir of immediacy and grace. OMG can you imagin growing up like that? Having KH pick you up to go swimming, knowing Bergman. I know she didn't know just how famous they were but with fame aside those are some down right intressting people. Sigh, if only we had a time machine...

Thanks for posting that Courtney- lucky, lucky girl. And imagine having absolutely no clue of how famous they were!
I guess she would have known him from Mary of Scotland...

I love how she says no one would ever recognize Kate. Ha! I think anyone would recognize Kate instantly based on that description.
