The Lucy Desi Comedy Hour was a series with hour-long episodes that began airing after I Love Lucy went off. In each episode, a big name star would make a special appearance, usually playing themselves. I was wondering if anyone knew if Lucy ever tried to get Kate to appear, since they made two movies together. I doubt she would have...Kate hadn't fully embraced TV as a performing outlet--yet. Also, does anyone know if Kate and Lucy became friends after making Stage Door and Without Love?

Hi Shaun, I don't know the answers to any of your questions and know this is an old post, but I think it deserves re-visiting because I am also intregued!
It's funny that "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour" is one of the seasons of "I Love Lucy" as far as the box sets are concerned. I always thought that was strange. I guess if the DVD companies named it with the propper title, people might get confused? I own it and enjoy watching it from time to time but the hourly specials definately didn't have the spark that earlier seasons of "I Love Lucy" had. I also find it funny that the little boy's name is not writte, only his character haha.. so it says Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance etc... "And Little Ricky" haha poor little boy, I'm sure it isn't hard to find out, but I still don't know his name lol
That would have been wonderful to have Kate on the show at that time, oh the possibilities. Although it's hard to imagine her in it at the same time.
I believe Lucille Ball was a very likable lady but her and Kate seemed like very different people so as far as a friendship goes, that would be interesting if anyone knows. I am also interested in that question of friendship after two films together.. p.s. I thought Lucille was great in both films "I want to do something with my hands" (Stage Door) haha..
Interesting topic.

To quote Lucy herself. "K.H. was not standoffish, she ignored eveyone equally."
