Bette and cake! What could be better? I bet Clark Gable felt silly posing with those teen queens and king of MGM. Thanks for all of the fraktacular pictures Richard.

So was Mildred Pierce originally going to be called something else? "House on the...."
Speaking of Crawford, I recently saw Humoresque for the first time. It was beautifully photographed and Joan was pretty good. Though I still don't consider myself a fan.
EDIT: of Crawford I mean.

It was beautifully photographed and Joan was pretty good. Though I still don't consider myself a fan. EDIT: of Crawford I mean. Neither am I - meaning a fan of Crawford. But she did some quite good films - there sometimes is something which I can't point out - she does touch one. Think she could have done even more if she had gotten the chance. Saw Humoresque, Mildred Pierce and Grand Hotel (Garbo film). Still have The Women and Flamingo Road to see. Choosing films I'm not always going after certain actors/actresses but also directors such as Cukor or Lean. Read "Mummy Dearest" not long time ago (very different from the film) - I must admit that I had my difficulties to believe what CC wrote, she seemed to me to be a very difficult person and her language wasn't that much of a grown up.

And let's not forget the Spencer/Joan Crawford connection - its just as well that Katharine didn't seem to be jealous of Spencer's past affairs

Welllll I guess I'm a fan of her work in Mildred Pierce. Other than that I either find her to be harsh (1940s) or crazy looking (1960s). Sorry.

I haven't watched any Crawford movies in awhile. She rocks my socks. That's what's important.
Myrna Loy hated everybody!?!?!?! Explain yourself Amber. And what's this argusphoto.com? I'm checking that out right now...

She didn't hate Kath, calm down hehe. How could anybody hate Katty? ::glares at Cecil Beaton::
But practically everybody else besides Bill Powell, Cranberry (Joan), and a few others... she wasn't really fond of. Don't even think of putting her in a room with Jeanette MacDonald. Then after the war she was like, "Pfft, whatever Hollywood." Ya'll should read her book, Being and Becoming (cut to my quote hehe)! Ah, how I heart you Minnie.

I should buy Being and Becoming. I had several opportunities to purchase that book on ebay, but none were at a price which I could afford.

Pfft, fine. Joan doesn't like you either Shaun. I don't know, Joan seemed to like everybody if you know what I mean. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. If it's any consolation to you, I think Stanwyck kicks arse. Second only to Kate. And Bette. But that's it!
