Well, I was planning to go to NYC come this summer. I'm afraid I can't go any earlier than that because of my college semester. That is, of course, if I left on a Friday and came back on a Sunday night. It's less expensive for me, though, because I live in NY (as you do). If you're thinking what I think you're thinking...

Well frig the roots, man. Mom won't let me go until I'm out of class, period. Not even if I take the overnight Little Bus to NYC! THE LITTLE BUS, FOR THE LOVE OF HEAVEN. For the weekend! Someone has it out for me. I, personally, want to stab them with a pine needle at the moment.
Send a postcard? Sigh.

Wow. How did I not see your last post, Alyssa? Let's see... classes end around early May. Then, I HAVE to sign up for a few summer courses. Because I will be thrown in the clink if I don't.
Chalk up expenses that I have to pay myself for room and board and transportation and that's a LOT of moolah that I don't have. I'm a master at mooching off of my father, though. ::crosses fingers:: I HAVE TO CLIMB KATE'S BALCONY. I HAVE TOOOOOOOOOOO!
I... am insane.

If your insane then i dont know what i am.. me and you really do think alike cuss i tried to climb the balcony but my dad wouldnt let me; then i wanted to steal the sign above E49th St that says Katharine Heppburn Place (theres a couple pics i took down below), which dad also objected to and as if dad hadnt ruined my Kath moment enough-2 months before that when i went to CT, i ALMOST MET BOB; but because my dad said it would be rude to just show up-we never went; and i almost broke into the fen fen house but once again-my dads a serious party pooper (k not really "break in" BUT i was gonna knock on the door-dad said nuh uh) --ahh welll.. whateverr.. but anyways...about NYC-ill keep my fingers crossed for you Amber; hopefully you get the money and you can climb her balcony ;D

so .. a more permanent link to some text about the papers www.nypl.org/press/releases/?article_id=45I'm intrigued by these words right 'chere Beginning in February, the library will host a slate of free public programs (dates to be announced), including lectures, readings and other events featuring such Hepburn intimates as the actress Zoe Caldwell, widow of producer Robert Whitehead (West Side Waltz/A Matter of Gravity), and Anthony Harvey, who directed her Oscar-winning performance in the film The Lion in Winter (1968).
“We are delighted to welcome some of Ms. Hepburn’s closest friends and colleagues to the library,” said Jacqueline Z. Davis, the Barbara G. and Lawrence A. Fleischman Executive Director of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. “These lectures and readings will provide a beautiful complement to the intimacy of her personal papers.”
The Katharine Hepburn Papers are expected to be fully catalogued and available to the public in February.
cause ... i'm talking with a chicago buddy about doing a theatre trip in february .... [we have to see chicago's own AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY .. which i saw five times here before it went on to broadway ... i'm kinda in love with several of the performances in this amazing new play] ... um ... a-wondering about the yet-to-be-announced events upcoming .. and there's a number to call in the nypl site info. yum.

Sigh. If I wasn't already disappointed that I couldn't attend in Feb... now I'm just MAD. Anthony Harvey! If Kathy Houghton decides to show up I'm going to go off my nut. Seriously now. Damn you, intense Shakes[peare] classes!
THEY'RE FREE, EVEN. So, it's not as if I'd be shelling out my bank account/soul to go to these events. I'm pretty good at convincing my parental units. I would need someone to chaperone me, though. Because, clearly, it's still 1917. There's still hope, Obi One!
... probably not. But I like kidding myself. GSHKJDHAJKDSDHKJSHDKAJSHKJ:HFKJSHFAKJSHFKSF.
