I can sympathize with those of you using dial-up,and I'm sorry the podcast file is so large. I can compress it further, but just like a photo on the web, the smaller the audio file, the lower the quality. I'll try to "smush" it a little for part 2. The next segment will be posted in early July.

hey Is part 2 of this available already? I can't access the site I have only listened to it partly so far, but I very much like the way René talks of Kate. I met him about 2 yrs ago and he also briefly spoke about her. I hadn't known until then that he had done a play or musical is this case with her... darn *G* Sherry: How did you manage to interview René? ;D

Thanks for posting that article Smith. Perhaps these new bios coming out in a few months will put some focus on her Australian tour.... There is a charming chapter in the book "Helpmann, the authorized biography of sir Robert Helpmann" by Elisabeth Salter, if you by any chance can get it. Had the luck to find it at the library. Kate went in the woods to watch the lyrebirds dance and guess what, she actually saw them. She spent several nights in the woods, she had the luck to see them dance. Kate wrote the foreword for the book. If i knew how to place a document or have e-mail-adr. i would send it.
