I don't think I ever replied to this thread, probably because it's too hard! It's a tie between BUB, WOTY, and The Philadelphia Story. At least as of now it is...

Ha maybe I did but I'm just gonna throw Adam's Rib out there because I've invested so much of my life in loving it, memorizing the script, etc.....

My all time favorite would have to the LIW because that is the first Kate film I ever saw! But like so many of us it is hard to choose just one ! I like LDJIN TPS and AR. If I had to choose one of her later movies I would say OGP or This cant be love although it was somewhat corny there were a lot of facets of her personality in there !

I'd like to repiled correctly to this thread, but I can't I've made really huge selection and I still have two movies: - TPS - The Lion In Winter I'm not able to choose. And I can't stand that Adam's Rib and On Golden Pond must get lower postions on my list.

The problem is, for me anyway, every time I watch one of Kate's movies I think "Oh My GOD! this is my favorite movie ever, let alone my favorite Kate film!".
In the last couple of weeks I watched Woman Of The Year AGAIN and Stage Door AGAIN and I'm thinking they're my two favorites.
But only a week before I watched Suddenly, Last Summer AGAIN and thought it was. It changes constantly.
And I think we should all face the facts: everything Kate did was fantastic in some way or another. And you cant quite separate them into absolute favorites. She was a poet. It was poetry what she did...
"That's what I meant when I said her life was her work, because the work of a poet is the life of a poet, and vice versa, the life of a poet is the work of a poet. I mean, you can't separate them. I mean, a poet's life is her work, and her work is her life in a special sense."
...maybe that's why it's so hard to choose?

Holiday. Strangely, I wasn't fond of it until recently. And then seeing it a few weeks ago, well, I really adored the Hepburn and Grant characters. It's so beautifully told and the chemistry is just perfect. Ayres is excellent too.

This is very hard to do. I have to go with my first and that is BUB. Its hard, very close runners up would be Holiday and Summertime. Both make me feel fuzzy inside

Bringing up Baby is my favourite. But then again, it's kind of a tie between BUB and The Philly Story. Those are my two favs, but I think I like BUB better. The dinner scene with Major Applegate ALWAYS cracks me up 'What was that?, 'It was probably an echo.' That line is awesome! And I love how Cary is always getting out of the table with the spoon in his hand!
That reminds me, I havent seen it in a while...you know, school always keeps me so busy... But I'll probably watch it tonight with my mom, she loves it too! She can never stop laughing at the 'Gay all of a sudden' scene!

My, this is an unfair question ! It's too hard to pick just one... I guess it depends on my mood and time of day... and yeah, whatever I think, maybe, my absolute favorite one is The African Queen Not because I think it's that much better than many of her other films, but it was the movie that got me hooked on Kate 4 month ago. I bought it because I was trying to get hold of all the "must-see" movies I could find, and it even took me a couple of weeks to pull my self together to put it on. But Oh My, the moment I did it I fell in love, and I haven't really thought of anything or anyone else since So for those personal reasons I guess TAQ is my number one... But If I had to choose one that I like the most, well, that's almost impossible - I guess it's either BUB, Summertime or AR.... Gosh I can't pick. I have a favorite scene though, and that's not just a favorite Kate-scene, but my favorite movie-scene EVER : "Oh look, David, I lost my heel, I lost my heel, look at me walk ! Ba ba dam da daaam, da dam da daa, da dum da da-da-da-da-duuum! I was born on the side of a hill..." ;D HAHAHA, it cracks me up, just thinking about it ! hahahaha....
