What is your ultimate, all-time, definitive, absolute favorite Katharine Hepburn movie?

Has to be Bringing up Baby - in fact, it's my favourite film of all time period and no matter how many times I see it, I never tire of watching it.

Bringing Up Baby for me, too. I've seen it countless times and every time I watch it it still makes me laugh my ass off. My favorite line: "s'in'th'bOx?"

Being a Pisces, I have to change my mind on this one. The Philadelphia Story. But that's bound to change with my mood. ;D

I've never gotten tired of Bringing up Baby, it's just the best. I love the line she says at breakneck speed, and just for fun here it is, "But it's not a hairbrained scheme! Imagine Aunt Elizabeth coming to this apartment and running smack into a lepard that would be an end to my million dollars! If you had an aunt who was gonna give you million dollars if she liked you and you knew she wouldn't like you if she found a lepard in your apartment what would you do?" That took me forever to understand and memorize so I'm very proud of myself.

How silly of me, I didn't even post my favorite Kath film yet. Well, it's Summertime. I kept going back and fourth between WOTY and AR, that they've sort of fused into one movie. And I've realized that Summertime is just it for me. I have such an emotional attachment to this film. There are so many memories tied to it that are really personal and whenever I watch it, I can't help but get the warm fuzzies. Jane Hudson was a hard role to play, too. Truly Kate was the only gal to do it. You guys know the whole song and dance about the character. The contradictory traits of vulnerability, desire, and independence in one person.
Ooh, I'm getting misty-eyed. *drip* Off to bed I go.

Somebody get Grandma her wheelchair!
Can you believe that I haven't seen Summertime yet? Shame on me. Well I guess my favorite Kate movie would have to be BUB, but I can't make up my mind. On some days it's Alice Adams, on others its Adam's Rib, and then later it will be Undercurrent. Or maybe Lion in Winter? Suddenly, Last Summer? Aaah there are so many great ones to choose from!

Shaun! You must get yourself to the nearest video store and get Summertime. It's a unique film -- it's unlike any of her other movies... And it's a fairly young (or youthful) Kate in color! Have to see it. Yeah, Desk Set was in color but she looks absolutely gorgeous in Summertime and the Italian setting is beautiful...

This simply fascinated me. Firstly, I must confess that I absolutely adore Bringing Up Baby. But brilliant though it is, I can't say I imagined a majority of Kate fans ranking it as their favorites.
This by the way, is the first time I've really ever talked about Kathy with anyone. I tried and failed to get my friends into it. Closed minded idiots I must be friends with.
Also, I agree entirely with someone from Sweden, who said that its really hard to find any of Kate's movies where she lives. I have that problem too, in New Zealand. Although to a lesser degree I think: I've found a few in stores here, but many others I had to get off amazon.com (with my moms credit card) and great many more I will need to, as I've bought pretty much all that is available here.
Anyway! lol
As for my favorite. I dont know that I can. I really dont. Choosing is too hard. I think it depends on what you're choosing it for, and I also feel with such a brilliant actress (rivaled by no one) you really need two categories...Comedy and Drama (i noticed a thread about that, might go have a look). But I think my absolute all time favorite would be... oh man here i go... On Golden Pond.
It was the first one I saw. And I fell in love with her. And since then I have found myself in the dangerous (on the pocket) position of not being able to get enough. But On Golden Pond holds a special place in my heart. I met Kate on golden pond...
(lame! lol)

Hard choice ! I hesitate between African queen (the begin of my love story with Kate ;D) and Lion in the winter , but .... Lion in the winter is absolute favourite.
