10 years ago today...
Nice to hear and see that the Belgian radio and newspapers haven't forgotten her and paid some nice tributes to her...

KH died on June 29, 2003. We don't have to believe if we don't want to.
That line - or a more elegantly stated version of it - has remained with me this past decade.
We don't have to believe it if we don't want to.

Sigh. A decade. Was feeling particularly moved by how long it's been, and decided to put my tablet to use: Combined with these words from John Kobal: "You look at that sparse and lively mien, cheeks apple-shiny and water-chestnut colored eyes crystal sharp, the hands bony and strong, her mouth, a strong bow, a long bow, full top lip ironically, self-mockingly turned down at the side, the tightly drawn lower lip set, ready for the words to twang and soar forth, rarely missing their mark, and you go careful with your enthusiasm, hold the gush, think before you speak, try not to let your emotions, carried away by her past, trip up your sense. If ever an American actress could have taken us by the hand and led us unquestionably out of the living room and into another world, a different land, like trusting grade-school pupils accompanying their teacher on a nature outing, it would have been this ageless Queen, who is still having the most marvelous time saying “nonsense" and “fiddlesticks" and “horse manure" and letting nothing and nobody get her down." That about says it. Miss her. If, for whatever reason, that image is not showing up (it isn't, for me), here's the link: hollywoodhepcat.tumblr.com/image/54220644326PS, Hi guys!!

I remember this Kobal bit. It's perfect. Thanks for posting. JS Sigh. A decade.
